They are definitely scamming people. Didn’t use to be this way. We’ve spent thousands of dollars at this store, fish, tanks, supplies but no more. We went in because we had a fish with a problem. They tested our water said it was totally fine, and the fish was having an internal issue, that it should get over. I saw a tang I wanted. My husband said it was sick. The store manager said he was wrong. I asked how long it had been there he said a week and recommended I get it. It died in less than 24 hrs. I took it back immediately and now the water that was fine all of a sudden, was not. And the crazy thing is we have corals in the tank so if what they said was true, they would be dead too no question along with the other fish. And turns out, he lied about the time the fish had been there cause one of the employees mentioned the fish were new. In addition the other fish in the same tank, were laying there dead too. Even if they had offered a partial credit I would have had a different response. And he knew because when I walked in he knew immediately who I was and said oh I guess he was just too small. Believe what you see written by others. You notice the theme is the same. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. And again didn’t use to be this way. But the focus on quality and customer is gone. OH and the other thing, I wanted to take the fish to have it evaluated and he took it and trashed it! I’m looking for it and it was already gone. Totally not acceptable.

Cruelty!! Can't stand seeing angel fish being kept in a tiny cup. It's so sad. To top it off, several of them were dead ? would think a large store like this could take care of their fish better.

I have been a "Reefer" since 2008, and have had the same 55 gallon Hexagon tank. I had been planning the last year to upgrade everything. I called all the large Reef Aquarium Supply Retailers across the U.S. to ask questions. I am a business owner myself and the person answering your business phone is VITAL to any company! The Reef Suppliers I called either did not answer, or did not return any phone OR chat messages left. If I reached a live person, they really could not have spoken in a more disinterested tone.
Dallas North Aquarium, and a positive shout of appreciation to World Wide Corals, Fl. are the only 2 Retailers making a pleasant difference. They answer phones and really want to help you. Pleasant, call back, all of what a customer is seeking.
I live in Texas and so I called Dallas North Aquarium. I met Denise who answered the phone so pleasantly, and knowledgeable. I received a call right back from Crystal. Crystal was incredible! Her expert knowledge, multiple calls to me, product pics made all the difference in my ordering and success. She took such a personal interest, asking questions of how I wanted to convert to the new set up, and had wonderful suggestions. I told her I was planning on the Red Sea Max. She was very familiar with the Max series, but carefully concerned in my move from a 16 year old set up, to be successful. I asked for suggestions and she sent photos of products I was requesting with pricing. We talked several times, exchanged the plan to move my 16 yr old live rocks loaded with beautiful corals, some water, and how to make it all happen successfully. Sean, the Manager also went over the plan detailed with me.
Well I am up and running!!!!! My new Red Sea Max is gorgeous!!!! I followed Crystal and Sean's ideas and did not lose a Fish, Coral, or any member of my Clean Up Crew! From Denise answering so pleasantly, Crystal, I can't say enough about, and Sean making double sure, I give Dallas North Aquarium a 10 Star Review!

Good selection of fresh and saltwater fish, corrals , fish tanks and supplies. Didn’t really have any people working there help convince me to get back into the hobby but when I had a question I could find someone to answer it.

I recently visited Dallas North Aquarium to set up a new community tank, and overall, I was impressed with the store. It’s big, clean, and has a huge selection of fish and supplies.

A special shout-out to Crystal, who was incredibly helpful and patient in guiding me through picking the right fish for my tank. She really took the time to answer all my questions, and I appreciated her expertise.

However, my experience at checkout wasn’t as positive. The young lady with brunette-colored hair at the register had a somewhat rude demeanor, which was a bit off-putting at the end of an otherwise great visit.

Overall, I’d still recommend the store, but it would be great to see consistent customer service from everyone.

Store is nice and filled with a huge variety of fish, unfortunately the dozen of feeder fish I got are ridden with parasites! tinny little yellow balls beneath their skin filled with worms! I live far so I didn't have time to check the fish I got until I got them in the quarantine tanks!
