Great selection and really friendly and helpful staff. Long term local business. They let me play around with the hard scape items in the actual tank I was buying so I could make sure it looked just right before I bought any of it. ?

I had a good experience here buying some fish for a 20 gallon tank I was setting up for my daughter while I was visiting. On my first trip I went in and walked around and picked out all the different fish that I liked. Then Mark so kindly walked around with me and let me know which ones would be a good fit for the size of tank, which ones would get along, and how many I could get. And he was kind enough to write it down on a list for me - because I know I would have never remembered ? When I went back with my list in hand, Ben helped pick out my fish. He was very kind and didn't even flinch with all the questions I kept asking, he kept his cool and answered everything I threw at him! It's been a few weeks now and all the fish are thriving and the tank looks great!

In the last 3 weeks we have bought 8 buckets of water from The Fish Store on N 48th street here in Lincoln. We use to buy water from them before when we had saltwater tanks. We now have a 30 gallon cube with a 20 gallon sump. We had it stocked with various coral and fish. We used the hydrometer to check the salidity of the water and it went up as high as it would go. We thought ta he hydrometer was broken because there was no way The Fish Store's water would be that off. During the time we bought our water from them we had a snail die, 3 rainbow bubble tip anenomes, 1 green bubble tip anenome, 2 hammer coral, an arc eye hawkfish, a flame tail tang and a jawfish. I'm sure they won't replace anything because we weren't thinking when we had to drain 27 gallons of water and replace it with straight RO water with no salt in it just to get the salidity in a normal range. We figured out what was killing our livestock when we bought another hydrometer and checked our tap water's salidity. It came out like it should and after replacing 27 gallons of water in our tank it's now in the normal range. Until now I've always had great respect for The Fish Store but now I'll never buy water from there again. If anyone ever does check it before putting it in your tank. You'll definitely save yourself some money unlike us $100's down the drain unless the owner takes responsibility and offers to replace some of what we lost. I doubt it though.

Came here to get a fish for my little sister. Thought this would be better than going to Petco or Petsmart and I was proven wrong. We came to the front to check out with her little beta fish and the guy just like slapped the fish around and was so rough. He just threw it into a back dumped water from a different used fish tank in and then sprung the bag with the fish in it around like you would a bag of bread or bagels! There was no regards or care given to the little guy. If you know anything about betas this was super dangerous for them and completely unacceptable by the employee who checked us out.

Decent prices on the fish, good return policy. Fish are all well taken care of and the employees are all kind and knowledgeable. Definitely my favorite fish store in Lincoln.

Great selection of fish! Always beautiful healthy creatures there. I got some loaches and some plants and I'm pleased to say they are doing great.

Staff isn't always the most knowledgeable but it's far better than the national chains.
